They identified international cooperation and expanding the range of international organizations in order to promote women’s causes in all areas as a priority area of work. The concept will be approved at a meeting of the EWF Organizing Committee, which is chaired by headed by Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
Deputy Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Galina Karelova noted that further developing international cooperation and implementing joint projects as part of prominent international platforms is a key focus of the Council’s activities. “In recent years, work has intensified to develop the women’s agenda both in Russia and around the world. Cooperation is developing effectively with international organizations and such associations as UNIDO, APEC, BRICS, and the Women’s Twenty, among others”, she said.
“An English version of the EWF platform will be launched in the near future and will allow us to take our work with international organizations to a new level”, said Yelena Marinina, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, Director of the Roscongress Foundation’s social platform Innosocium Foundation, and coordinator of the EWF Global Platform.
“We are constantly working to promote the establishment of international ties between Russian and global organizations that are leaders in the women’s agenda, both on the sidelines of the Roscongress Foundation’s forums and as part of our own events. Having a single platform will enable us to expand the range of organizations with which we can cooperate on various topics of the women’s agenda, actively involving women in all spheres of the economy, and achieving a gender balance and social wellbeing”, she said.
The EWF Global Platform is already carrying out a wide range of work to further promote the women’s agenda in Russia. It has become a single news platform for projects being implemented by the coordinators of the EWF Council and in general for news on gender and youth topics. All the Council members noted the great demand for the portal. The media has also covered the platform. For example, Forbes Woman included the EWF portal in the list of organizations that provide assistance to entrepreneurs in Russia.
The Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum along with core ministries and women’s public organizations compiled a list of projects that aim to support female compatriots abroad and expand women’s involvement in the digital economy, corporate charity, regional development, and the nuclear industry, among other areas.
