Roscongress Foundation Joins the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) through Investment Platform Fund RC-Investments

Fund RC-Investments, the investment platform of the Roscongress Foundation, has become a member of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA). Founded in 1995, WAIPA brings together 252 investment agencies from 162 countries. Its goals include bolstering cooperation between investment agencies from different nations, establishing contacts, and exchanging experience and information to raise investment.

WAIPA assists its members with training and developing investment policies and strategies for promoting a particular region, and also protects their interests at the government level by substantiating the usefulness of their work.

“Developing regions and creating a favourable investment climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation are among the key tasks on the Russian agenda. Being a member of international organizations will enable Russian development institutions to apply international experience to work out the most effective strategy to accomplish this objective”, Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

The key project being implemented by Fund RC-Investments is the Investment Platform of Russian Regions (investinregions.ru), a unique digital space that brings together investors and project initiators throughout Russia. The platform provides up-to-date information about Russia’s regions, business conditions, government support measures, and other aspects of business ideas, thereby facilitating improvements to the investment situation in the country’s regions.

“On behalf of WAIPA, I would like to welcome RCI to our association. At WAIPA we bring together IPAs from all over the world. We advocate and support their critical work and we connect them to share best practices to constantly step up their game to support their governments and investors in the best way possible. As such we would like to congratulate RCI for becoming a member of WAIPA”, said WAIPA CEO Mr. Bostjan Skalar.

Fund RC-Investments Director Alexander Shatirov said joining WAIPA will ensure the Fund has the ability to operate in accordance with international standards when attracting investments to the regions: “Membership in the association gives us an opportunity to study best practices in raising investments and focus on global standards in our work. WAIPA provides its members with access to a unique knowledge base, case studies, and practices that can be used in the realities of Russia in order to avoid the path of trial and error. Our experience in regional development will also become part of this ecosystem”.
